Recognition of exams and certificates for the Bachelor’s study programme

An exam from a foreign language (English, German, French, Spanish or Russian) can be recognised only at the minimum level of B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), based on a language certificate, an exam from a foreign language within studies at FSS (previous or simultaneous), studies at another faculty of MU, or studies at another university, both in the CR and abroad.
The request for recognition of language subjects is assessed starting from the beginning of the registration for courses period until the end of the course enrolment changes period. It is assessed by all Language Centre teachers at FSS, yet only in their office hours at FSS MU, Joštova 10, in offices 5.55 or 5.54. Documents can also be left at the department secretariat (office 5.54), or sent by post to the department address: Language Centre at FSS MU, Joštova 10, 602 00 Brno.

Student can decide whether they want to have the exam recognized fully or partially.

  • In the case of full recognition, the student will be given a mark in IS in accordance with article 14 par. 4 of MU Study and Examination Regulations, accompanied by the label “recognised”. Credits obtained through this recognition will not be included in the number of credits necessary to proceed to the next term.
  • In the case of partial recognition, the student will agree with the course guarantor which part of the assignments will be required in order to pass the course.
